Beekeeping with Grandma

Did I ever mention before that my grandma is a beekeeper? She knows everything about bees and she has delicious honey.

Grandma came over to spend the weekend with us also she taught me a lot of new things about our bees. We have 2 hives, one of them is less busy than the other. We wanted to check on them today, just to make sure that everything is okay, and they are happy.

We needed to get into our bee suits so we don’t get stung by the bees! Would you believe that my grandma is actually allergic to bee stings? Today I also learnt about epi pen and how to use it. My grandma always has one in her bag just in case.

Next we got the smoker ready to use and went to the hives. Grandma opened the 1^st hive and I used  the smoker to puff the smoke across the top of the hive then grandma took the frames out.0000
